It's easy to spot this as the first iteration of the BRE Datsun 2000 roadster, by the wheels. They were the lightest wheels available at the time and team owner and manager Peter Brock thought they'd be killer. Unfortunately, they didn't allow for any air to reach the brakes and during their first race at Holtville, CA in 1969 the only thing they killed, were the brakes. This beautiful color before-first-race shot shows how meticulous BRE preparation was from the very beginning!
