Datsun's president Yutaka Katayama (Mr. K) was an enthusiastic race fan. When the Ontario Speedway first opened in 1971, Katayama wanted Datsun to be part of the first race. He commissioned BRE to build a 510 "Pace Car" that could lead the pack of Indy racers around the speedway at more than 130 MPH! Famed American racer Dan Gurney was the selected driver. Here Brock gives the keys to his friend Dan before the start.
