Peter Brock's award winning book on the origins of the Corvette Sting Ray is now available in either soft or hard cover. Both books consist of the same high quality paper and both were PRINTED IN THE USA. The lower price point of $34.95 of the soft cover book makes it great for gift giving. Use the drop down box to select the soft cover book, hard cover or the hard cover book in a collector edition case (while they last).

You can also choose to have the soft or hard cover books autographed by author/designer Peter Brock. The collector edition slip case book is already autographed by Brock.

This 144 page book (go below to view in a pdf select pages and table of contents) contains 180+ photographs and sketches throughout and won the Motor Press Guild's Best Book of the Year Award AND their highest honor, the Dean Batchelor Award for best automotive piece across all medium including film/video, books, articles and photography!

About the book: As a young designer at GM Styling in 1957, Brock's involvement with the design of the 1963 Corvette Sting Ray has been well overshadowed by his successes at Shelby American, but they are no less fascinating. Brock shares the inside story of how the ’63 Corvette Sting Ray came to be, including never before seen images of Harley Earl’s design (full size models) for a second generation (C2) Corvette in 1955, which included a split window! Earl knowing he would retire in ’58 handed the future of the C2 project off to his heir apparent, Bill Mitchell, in 1957. The rest as they say is history, but the history of the origin and evolution of the Corvette Sting Ray design from ’55 through ’60 has been relatively unknown, until now.

Brock takes us on a spell binding journey through the automotive industry with his first-hand account, including the dynamics of working with Earl, Mitchell, Ed Cole and Zora Arkus-Duntov. It’s an insider’s view seldom seen or understood. Thanks to GM’s support in allowing Brock to share never-before-seen photographs of GM Styling from 1955 through 1963 combined with more than 20 original sketches drawn by Brock at GM Styling from ’57-’58 this book will become an instant classic and must-have for any enthusiast’s collection.

In a Foreword written by Ed Welburn, GM’s current VP of Global Styling, Welburn shares his first experience upon seeing a 1963 Corvette Sting Ray and how it determined his future career path.
