Each year in December, a holiday party is held at the Shelby American Museum in Boulder, CO. At that party, an annual ritual is held of introducing a new poster. By special arrangement, we are able to offer you these posters.
In 2005, the annual poster used this striking scene of the Alan Mann pits at the 1965 Oulton Park Tourist Trophy race. Rarely seen is this line-up of a Cobra roadster, a Cobra Daytona Coupe and the Willment Coupe. The Willment Coupe, built in England, was intended to be a copy of the Cobra Daytona Coupe. This photo illustrates how truly different its form is from the graceful Daytona, a shape that appears only Peter Brock can create. We like all the products we offer but this scene is particularly appealing in its energy and sense of history.
Text on the poster reads:
RAC Tourist Trophy, Oulton Park May 1st 1965. Alan Mann applies tape to seal the door on FIA Cobra csx 2345 driven by Sir John Whitmore who finished 1st in GT class. Jack Sears was next in the Cobra Daytona Coupe csx 2299 finishing 3rd, while Frank Gardner placed 6th driving the Willment Cobra Coupe csx 2131.
This poster can be ordered with the option of Peter Brock's signature.
