This is the vest version of the original Shelby American team jacket. This vest is identical to the jacket with the exceptions that it has these very nice vertical zippered pockets in the front and has no hood.
"As Shelby American took on the racing world stage in 1964, it was clear to me that we needed an image to match our intentions, to be champions! I designed professional looking team shirts and jackets using our blue and white colors with our race stripes down the sleeves and the Shelby and Ford logos. Each jacket was made with a uniquely designed quilted nylon exterior with a comfortable guardsman blue liner and center mesh panel. For comfort and function, the cuffs were half elastic mesh and nylon. Just below the inside of the collar was a zipper, which when opened revealed a nylon hood, slipped inbetween the liner and the jacket. I wish I still had mine!" These jackets were made only for team members and not available to the public, until now. The Original Venice Crew (OVC) has taken on the task of faithfully reproducing these jackets with every detail exactly like the originals. Their jackets matches every detail of
the original, including the unique pattern of the quilts and the "puff" of the material.
Their jacket is an accurate reproduction using processes not normally found
to produce such a jacket. The research
and construction of this jacket took them over a year of study, work, testing and
exacting production samples. The resulting quality is apparent.
