Peter Brock, designer of Carroll Shelby's World Championship winning Daytona Cobra Coupes announced on October 13, 2015 a series of accurate 1:43rd scale Daytona Cobra Coupe models by TrueScale.
"We only built six Coupes", says Brock, "five of which had their bodies built in Italy. They are all slightly different, so they make a fascinating study. Other model companies have just copied one car and then changed the colors, stripes and numbers to represent all six cars. I've been frustrated by this inaccuracy for years. Then TrueScale Miniatures approached me about making a truly accurate set of Daytona Coupes. We've always been impressed by their dedication to accuracy. I said yes and now the first set of truly accurate, 1:43rd scale models is becoming available. Each model is specific to a particular Coupe and event in which it ran."
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Daytona Coupe winning the FIA GT World Championship in 1965, Brock Racing Enterprises is releasing a very limited quantity (e.g. 25 or 50 each) of these models, as a numbered series, autographed by designer Peter Brock with Brock's personal description of the importance of that Coupe at that event and the details unique to that car. Model offerings will vary, with some models in the series also coming with a period photograph of that Coupe at that event.
Brock Racing Enterprises will release each new model based on demand, holidays and calendar events so check back often or sign-up to Peter Brock's facebook page here where each model will be announced when it becomes available.
