"The beauty of the TR250K (for "Kas" Kastner from Triumph US) was that it was a real production car under the skin. We used one of Triumph's TR6 production chassis, with one of their latest six cylinder 2.5 liter engines and built a 'production concept' that could be used as a racer. It had to run as a prototype at Sebring because it hadn't been homologated, but our goal was to beat the production Porsches. We were miles ahead when a wheel collapsed and put us out. The home office never admitted they liked the design or what we'd done at Sebring, but later stole the lines to put on the TR7.They bungled the job and went broke with that blossom!"
