In 1970, the Datsun 240Z was new to the world. Peter Brock's BRE team entered two Zs into SCCA C Production competition that year. One was John Morton's red #46 and the other was John McComb's #3 blue Z. Initial teething problems with the engine's crankshafts almost scuttled their regional qualifications for the ARRC. Late season development overcame the problems however and Morton swept to victory at Road Atlanta, followed by Bob Sharp in his Sharp Racing 240Z and in third was Morton's teammate John McComb. A clean Z sweep in its first year of production! In this rare photo, a joyous BRE team in their team uniforms of red BRE race shirts and intimidating white jeans, assembles at the ARRC Championship podium (with #46 in the foreground).
