"The Holtville regional, near San Diego, was the SCCA's first race of the 1969 Pacific Coast season. For the first time BRE would appear with two cars, one for Frank Monise, the other for John Morton. Both racers ran in D Production with Morton winning the regional title and the seat in BRE's first 240Z for the following season! The almost identically prepared 2000 roadsters were the scourge of production car racing in the late '60s."
