"Datsun's first BRE racer was this beautiful 2000 roadster built especially for Frank Monise."I picked Frank Monise to drive BRE's first racer as he was the only driver I could never beat when we raced Lotus 11s together in G Modified", says Brock. "Frank was the toughest ol' guy who ever sat in a BRE racer and handsomely rewarded us in 1969 with our first Pacific Coast Divisional Championship. Note the front air dam. Any unauthorized part on a production car at that time was illegal. There was however a rule that permitted "brake scoops". Brock invented the world's first air dam for production racers by making a device that qualified under the rules as a brake scoop and forever changed the look and performance of all race cars."
