In 1970, the BRE team was ecstatic at the thought of racing Datsun's stunning new 240Z sports car. At the beginning of the 1970 season however the Zs were not yet ready. John Morton and John McComb continued to run the BRE Datsun 2000 Roadsters while the Zs were being built. The wait will have been worth it. At the end of the '70 season, John Morton would win the C Production Championship with his #46 240Z racer. This photo was taken during an unusually cold spell at Road Atlanta the week of the ARRC races. John McComb, a midwest native, recalls; "It was cold, like 45 degrees. I felt sorry for those CA boys".
